Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Mask II by Amanda

My mask is gone
It has left it's place
There is no smile on my face
Tears are falling
Down like rain
I try to cover
It's all in vain
My cloths are gone
Naked I stand
I wish somebody would
Lend a hand
But no one is there
To help me up
My throat is dry
My lips are parched
Will some one give me
Water from the life cup
It will lift me up
It will bring me high
And without it I shall die
But no one comes to help
So deeper and deeper yet I fall
Into the hole there is no return
So forever my soul will burn
Burn with envy, pain and fear
Cry till there is but one tear
Left to fall
All else is gone
Where in this life have I been wrong
I've tried my best to make it right
But still every day turns to night
When darkness comes to take the light
When other souls all take to flight
But mine is grounded
Heavy as lead
And as I've often said
I'll carry you
Will you carry me?
