Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Six Tears by Chris

When I have gone,
Don't cry too long for me.
Let only six tears fall.
With the first,
Remember the old days,
How good we used to be.
Think of me sometimes,
Sitting alone in the dark,
And let the second pass.
But don't spend too long thinking,
As the third is shed.
Think of me now and again,
When the fourth falls,
As strangers pass in the street.
Leave me in peace,
As you loved me in life,
Briefly but passionately.
When the fifth has gone,
While you still live,
Think of the living,
And all that's still to be done.
For you will love again,
The sixth will be shed for joy
I'll see to that,
And make it last eternity.
