On A Fair Amber Haired Maiden by Ben

O heart of my heart, O life of my life,
Breath of my breath, when I'm with thee
The world is set a'light-
Bright as the grassy

Fields of golden weave of leaves!
You move me like the breeze dost the trees
And I would'st liken to drink of thee
And thy mouth, O pleasant retreat!

And run my fingers through your fair
Amber hair of silken flax!
O to love you everywhere
And melt candles down to wax!

Aye, but aye could aye your aye!
None, but aye can aye, but aye
Do to thee and thine alone,
Just like mine heart, thou has strung!

The Heavenly bells have rung
And thy voice is sung-
Like a melodious song are you to me
Like a bird of Kiltartan-free!

Like a Heavenly rose on Sunday-
The sweetest that grows on the hill.
May you Cross my way-with sunshine ray
And bring out all that I feel!

O taketh all of my Passionate spill
For it is thine now and forever still
This sickness covers the sun,
When thee and I can be one,

One heart, one life that always shines!
One love-the highest mountain we do climb!
And I, born of the race of the poets
Will always love thee and show it

This poem for thee and thee only
Lovely maiden taketh my hand
And we-a'sail the breeze
Across America, Scotland-land

Where Wallace bled
And Emerald Green Ireland
Where many lay dead-
The ghosts of poets, who understand

To catch a deer is better than a leprechaun
And all the luck of Ireland, when we can
Like poor, blind Columcille find
A love that's been since the beginning of time!

More fine than Deirdre of Ancient Lore-
A love in your heart (as golden)
And as deep as the Scotch-Irish shore-
As gentle as the wind, as warm as the sun!

O flame of true beauty, many heroes will fight
For thee and king shall seek thee for a queen
For you are more comely than a shamrock bright
And Rhiannon like a bird in flight!

You move the "Celtic Wheel Of The Year"
Another notch, which makes it always Spring!
For if thee will cling
To my shoulder, I'll fight off your fear!

Like Arthur to Guinivere, thou art to thee!
We can travel the skies for all eternity!
And deep in our hearts love can grow!
For my dear, I love you so,
Just like when Christ bled like a red, red rose!
