Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

It's not the same by Lauren

The hurt still lingers on,
Of the pain I cannot show,
The smile apon my face hid secrets noone was to know.
So now what can I do?
Can anything be done?
The things you've come to say to me,
was it just for fun?
Am I just a game to you,
For when you're feeling bored?
Or am I just a memory in your head?
Something to be stored.
You put me up, then tore me down, left quickly as you came,
And now you expect for me to feel normal,
When nothing is the same.
So why can't I forget you, the way you've done to me?
Why can't I leave you wondering,
of what was meant to be.
But one day someone will hurt you,
and step apon your heart,
And when there is no one to fall back on,
you'll wish we never had part
