Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

Love Letter by Jessica

Dear Scotty,
I love you in so many ways.
I love the way you look at me
and I feel like I want to die right then and there,
The way you just casually put your arms around me,
The way you always try to kiss away my tears,
even if it doesn't work you still try your best,
The way you show off even though we both know I would still love you
even if you did suck,
The way you smile at me and I smile back,
The way you think that you know exactly what to say to make me feel better,
but it just makes me feel ten times worse,
The way you hold me close when I'm cold,
I love the way you look at me when I'm mad and my anger just melts away
and all I want to do is kiss you,
The way I beat you at pretty much anything,
The way you tickle my feet,
The way you comfort me when I'm crying,
The way you look at me when your afraid your going to lose me,
I love the way I miss everything about you when you are gone,
Yet regardless if I love you, hate you, wish you would die,
or know that I would die without you, it matters not.
Because what you were to the world, you are now everything to me.
When we look into each others eyes traveling to the depths of our souls
and we say a million things without a trace of sound,
I know that my life is inevitably consumed within the rhythmic beatings of your heart.
I love you for a million reasons, no paper would ever do it justice.
It is a thing, a feeling, that is never spoken, only felt.
