Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

The End by Quinsey

We lose the ones we need.
We hurt the ones we love.
We rush around and take no heed.
We look to the stars above.
We get caught up in life,
and often forget to live.
In the end there will be strife
Because we do not give.
We take what is ours,
then go back for more.
We live for all the powers
and let our hearts grow sore.
We need to look ahead,
to see what's yet to come.
The world is gonna dread
the day we look so dumb.
The world is gonna pay.
The world is gonna cry.
We go from day to day
with our heads so high.
I'm gonna get knocked down,
along with all of you.
We'll be stripped of our crown,
our pride and honor too.
When the day is here,
We'll all fade away.
It's coming very near,
the skies are turning grey.
Life as we know it,
full of greed and pain,
will be over in a little bit.
There will be nothing left to gain.
The lonliness grows stronger
as everything gets dark.
The nights are getting longer.
The cold will leave its mark.
The end is very close.
Can you see the clover?
Go get your last dose,
Now everything is over.
