Teenager's Poems
1996 to 2003

As these poems were written between 1996 and 2003 by teenagers who are now adults, the surnames have been left off. If you want to reclaim a poem and have your name attached please contact teenmag@irelandcalls.com. We can add your name or remove the poem. Better still, give us a paragraph about yourself to add to your poem.

An Apology by Heidi

I'm sorry for all the things that I never meant to say
I'm sorry for letting the past get in the way
I never want to say "goodbye"
Without you I would surely die

I'm sorry for my worries and fears
And for all the times I break down in tears
I've been hurt so many times before
This makes me afraid to love anymore

I'm sorry for all the times of jealousy
It's embedded so deep inside of me (must be insecurity)
I have a problem learning to trust
But, to love you, I realize I must

I'm sorry for anything I've done that hurts
And for any pain I have caused that still lurks
I love you in a special way
I wanted to remind you of that today

Please forgive me for all my mistakes
Your love makes it better, that's all it takes
I promise to try to forget the past
I want our love to be strong and last

So, let's start over, like it's new
Our love can grow more strong and true
Love like this is new to me
So I felt I should write this apology
